What’s in my bag?

purse

I love getting a glimpse into other people’s purses to see their go to products, so here are mine!

Essentials

Agenda– small enough to fit in my bag and also waterproof (surprisingly that has come in handy) [out of stock but they have similar cute ones]

Sunglasses– these gold aviators dress up any outfit

iPhone– duh. with a Rifle Paper Co. case (again duh.)

Lip color- my newest find/splurge is Clinique Chubby Stick in Mega Melon

Trader Joe’s Shea Butter Hand Creme– smells good, works great

purse essentials

In case of emergency I keep all these little items in a bag inside my purse so I can easily move it from purse to purse!

Tissues– if you’re sick… or sweaty or just need a tissue Bobby pins– when do you not need a bobby pin? Floss– I use the floss in my purse way more than I ever thought I’d ever use the floss in my purse Perfume stick– if you need to feel a little refreshed during a long day Hand sanitizer– because I’m a germaphobe  Band aids– for when your feet are bleeding and you have no backup shoes Nail file– always comes in handy Makeup brush– actually I don’t think I’ve ever used this… Mirror– if you ever need a mirror in the dark, this one has a light Visine for contacts– after staring at a computer for 8 hours sometimes my eyes need a little refresh.

My latest purchase: this purse [in faded aluminum] a splurge but I’ve been lusting over it forever!

// FALL

Fall officially arrives tomorrow! Even though it takes Florida forever (seriously) to feel  even an inkling of autumn I still can’t contain my excitement. I realize it’s a little ridiculous to wear my fur lined sweater around the house, make chili and paint my nails dark colors when it’s still 84 degrees outside but I can’t help it.  Even if the weather isn’t going to corporate I’m going to transition my mind into fall! Here’s to boots, bonfires, college football games, making soup and curling up with a cup of tea!

The quest for the perfect closet.

personal style workbook

Today I purchased Into Mind‘s “personal style & the perfect wardrobe // a workbook” as soon as I got home from work. I’m super excited to put aside some time and dive into this! It looks like it’ll be full of inspiration and that extra push I need to completely renovate my closet and love/wear everything I have in it. I’ll let you know how it goes!

I meant to post something today about packing for my trip to Washington D.C. this weekend to visit my best friend but I didn’t end up doing much packing and I’m thinking about using one of the packing worksheets in the above workbook to help me. So maybe later this week!

Fewer better things.

leather tote

I fell in love with the Cuyana brand after finding their website through their Lean Closet Movement. The premise is “Challenging us to collect fewer, better things”, which is exactly the mission I’ve been on lately. I’ve been getting rid of piles and piles of clothes and thinking super hard about anything I buy to add to my closet. The site gave me a lot of inspiration for my journey of a more minimalistic closet.

I stumbled back on the site when I was looking for a big leather tote and discovered they had exactly what I was looking for. I bought it in brown and spent the extra money to get it monogrammed in a pretty simple gold. I’ve used it to carry my laptop (and everything else) to work, take it shopping (to put my purchases in and keep my hands free!) and for day trips. I also splurged and bought the monogrammed makeup bags which are perfect for traveling! All in all this is a great company. I love their products and what they stand for, check them out!
